Chief Chapman started his law enforcement career with the Salt Lake City Police Department in 1971. He was assigned to Patrol, Traffic/Solo Motors, Youth Division, Intelligence Unit and Homicide Unit. He worked his way through the Ranks as a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and retired after 28 years of service as Assistant Chief. Chief Chapman then served as police chief for the Salt Lake International airportĀ for two years and was manager of the Security, Protective Services Division for the Latter Day Saints Church for another two years. He has been in his current position as Sandy City Police Chief since May 2002.
